Feeding: It's recommended to keep the food in the freezer until you are ready to feed. We like to take a bag out of the freezer 2-3 days before needed so it's defrosted and ready to use. However, our bags can be boiled and are microwave safe should you need some in a hurry.
Freshness: With the packaging process used, you can expect a batch to last approximately 6-8 months in the freezer and approximately *6-8 days in the fridge.
*USDA storage time for cooked meats in the refrigerator for humans is 3-4 days. However, dogs have a different digestive system than humans and are able to easily tolerate and safely digest meat that is stored slightly longer. So, although our food is made with human grade ingredients and looks and smells delicious, it's best you let them be the ones to enjoy it!
Packaging: Our food is packaged using BPA free, resealable zippered bags. We use a high pressure chamber sealer to remove air from the bags, allowing each batch to maintain freshness for extended periods of time.
We package our batches in smaller, more manageable weights to make defrosting and feeding easier for those who may be limited on storage space in the fridge &/or freezer, who have multiple dogs/weights to manage, prefer minimal packaging, and/or prefer to measure servings themselves.
We offer a range of bag weight capacities with our standard/maximum capacity being 5lbs. Weights of batches can be split up into smaller bags upon request for those with itty-bitty fur babies to offer more ease and convenience.
